Liz was born in DRC and came to the UK with her family as a young child. With much of her family also emigrating to different corners of the globe, she grew up with a ‘global awareness’ of a multitude of musical and cultural influences, which over the years fed into her artistic and musical output.
Cross-pollinating influences from Folk and Jazz to Reggae, Hip Hop and Soul; these songs speak from Liz’s experience as a mixed-heritage woman and artist living in the UK, and tell a personal and intimate story of identity, culture and belonging, as well as offer reflections on love, loss and life-learnings.
